109th Annual General Meeting

Dear Johnian,                       

Warm Greetings from St. John's College, Jaffna OBA – South Sri Lanka.

It is once again time for us to meet and greet fellow Johnians and to elect a new bunch of Ex-Co Members for 2015/2016 to take forward the activities of the OBA SSL.

The 109th Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held on Saturday 6th June 2015.

The day's programme commences with the Thanks Giving Service at 9.00 am which will be held at the Holy Trinity Church, No 21, St. Lawrence Road, Wellawatte, Colombo 6. On completion of the service the Annual General Meeting will commence at 10.30 am and will be followed by lunch.

The Lunch Tickets are priced at Rs. 500/-. Members are kindly requested to contact any one of the following persons to reserve your tickets. In order to avoid shortages and wastage the sale of tickets will be closed on June 02, 2015. Students tickets are priced at Rs. 250/-.

St. John's Jaffna promoted to Division I - 'Singer Trophy' U-17

St. John's College Jaffna who were promoted to division I this year will be one of the 75 teams who will participate at the 'Singer Trophy' U-17

St. John’s Jaffna promoted to Division I

‘Singer Cup’ U-17 Division 1 Inter-Schools Cricket
St. John’s College Jaffna who were promoted to division I this year will be one of the 75 teams who will participate at the ‘Singer Trophy’ U-17 division 1 inter schools cricket tournament scheduled to begin on 10th May.

Richmond College Galle were the champions last year and Trinity College Kandy were the runners-up.

First round matches will be played on league basis in 10 groups and 40 teams will qualify to second round.

The second round will also be played on league basis in eight groups. The champions and runners-up teams from each of these groups will qualify to the pre-quarter-finals.

Groupings:
Group ‘A’ - St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa, Moratu Vidyalaya, Royal Panadura, Ananda, Dharmapala, Ananda Shastralaya Kotte, Maris Stella Negombo, and Asoka Vidyalaya Colombo.

Group ‘B’ – St. John’s Nugegoda, President’s College Kotte, Holy Cross Kalutara, Royal, Nalanda, Mahanama MV Panadura, Gurukula Kelaniya, Piliyandala Central.

Group ‘C’ – St. Joseph’s, St. Peter’s, St. John’s Panadura, Isipathana, St. Benedict’s, St. Anthony’s Wattala, Tissa Central Kalutara, Sri Jayewardenepura MV Kotte.

Group ‘D’ – Sri Dharmaloka Kelaniya, S. Thomas’ Mt. Lavinia, Mahanama Colombo, D.S. Senanayake, Lumbini, Sri Sumangala Panadura, Kalutara Vidyalaya.

சென்.யோனஸ் கல்லூாியின் வரலாற்றுச் சிறப்புப் பெற்ற அதிபா். எமது கல்லூாியில் இருமுறை அதிபராகப் பதவியில் இருந்த இலங்கையா்.பழைய மாணவரல்லாத அதிபா்.அங்கிலிக்கன் கிஸ்தவப் பிரிவில்லாத மதடிஸ்ர் பிரிவைச் சேர்ந்தவர்.அதிபருக்கு மேலான பாடசாலையின் முகாமையாளராகக் கடமையாற்றியவா். பாடசாலையின் 150ஆண்டு நிறைவுகால அதிபர்.இன்று பாடசாலையில் பெரிதும் பயன்படும் 150 அடி நீளமுள்ள பீற்றோ மண்டம் இவரது பதவிக்காலத்திலேயே கட்டப்பட்டது. இவரது பெயரிலும் ஒரு ஞாபகாத்த மண்டபம் பாடசாலையில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
